Starting Sunday, February 26, our children and youth will have the opportunity to participate in Sunday school classes during the Sunday school hour, beginning at 9:15 am. This addition means Church of the Palms offers Sunday school for children, youth, and adults!
Thanks Church of the Palms! The Shrove Tuesday pancake supper sponsored by The Brothers! raised over $400 towards their missions! View some of the great fun and wonderful fellowship in the short video below.

Communty Lenten Services
The community is invited to participate in a Wednesday noon service at various churches during Lent. Each participating church will offer a simple service from noon to 12:30 pm featuring a guest pastor from the community. An offering received during the service will support a community missions. Following the service, the host church will provide a simple luncheon starting at 12:30 pm, with financial donations gladly accepted.
The next service is:
February 29 Church of the Palms United Methodist 1425 Okatie Hwy (Hwy 170N) Rev. Dr. Jerry Kramer, Retired Pastor, Lowcountry Presbyterian
Ash Wednesday is February 22. Church of the Palms will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 pm. Pastor Pete will share the message "Who Stained The Couch?" based on Psalm 51. The service will conclude with the imposition of ashes and a moving solo of "The Lord's Prayer" by Christine Callahan.
A Wednesday night Lenten study with Pastor Pete starts February 29, from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the church building. The basis of this study will be the book "Shadows, Darkness, and Dawn" by Thomas Stegald.
Thomas Steagald invites us to take a Holy Lenten journey with Jesus from the temptation in the wilderness, to the darkness at Calvary and into the hope of dawn on Easter morning. Each week, this Wednesday night class will spend the majority of the time reflecting on and discussing the gospel lesson that was the basis of the prior Sunday's worship service. Then the remaining portion of each class will be focused on the gospel that will be used in the upcoming Sunday worship service. The intent is to give each participant (and Pastor Pete!) greater insight to the messages and lessons that frame our journey through this Lenten season.
To be part of this class, simply contact Pastor Pete so that a study book may be ordered for you. The cost of the book is $12, but you are also able to share with a partner if desired.
