I am SO very excited.  The accompaniment CD for our Music Ministries Christmas cantata "Night Of The Father's Love" arrived today and I have it playing -- with the volume wide open!  (Good thing I'm the only one here!)

This cantata was written by Pepper Choplin.  Church of the Palms was able to obtain this music through the generous gift of a lover of church music who hasn't even attended Church of the Palms - not even once - but is willing to make sure we have the chance to enjoy this message in music.

What I am enjoying so very much are the rhythms of the songs with the underlying sounds of bassoon and oboe.  Two of my favorites already are The Angels Are Making Their Rounds and The Shepherds Song.  How fun!  And just as I am getting into the tunes, a familiar Christmas carol or hymn emerges.  It is like opening Christmas presents - full of the anticipation that comes from wondering what will be inside.

Now for the bad news.  The cantata at Church of the Palms isn't until December 18 at 10:30 am.   That seems SO LONG from now.  Can I request a Christmas Cantata in September?
