christmaseve02sqCome Home for Christmas to Church of the Palms as we worship on Christmas Eve at 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

The 4:30 p.m. is our participatory telling of the birth of Jesus where there are parts for people of all ages.

Our 7 p.m. service is in our classic style of
worship, and will feature special music in terms of soloes and brass ensemble.

Our 11 p.m. will feature dual guitars, keyboard, and
vocalists in an alternative style of worship as we welcome in
Christmas Day.

All services will include Holy Communion, a proclamation of the Good News by Pastor Pete, and the beloved lighting of candles.

The offering received at all three of our Christmas Eve worship services will go to support Church of the Palms and Gospel Lighthouse Church in Ridgeland in their ministries to those at Ridgeland Correctional Institute.

“God With Us: Brings Joy!”
Zephaniah 3:14-20 / Luke 3:15-18

This Sunday, December 16, we are guided on our journey through Advent by the prophet Zephaniah and the gospel writer Luke.

In vivid word pictures, we hear of the joy that should be ours because Christ came and will come again. The writers are clear, however, that this does not mean all will be safe, easier, or even pleasant. What it does say is that in spite of even the more trying times of life we can be assured that God has not forgotten us, has not forsaken us but is with us. And this is the source of joy even with happiness might seem impossible.

So come this third Sunday of Advent to hear once again the good news of the Gospel that fulfills the promises of old and gives us courage for the journey ahead.

Our time of worship at the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. classic services will include sharing in Holy Communion. At the 10 a.m. Gathering, Michael McIntyre will be leading us in a new arrangement of Joy to the World.
