Vision 2020 is the initiative by the Church Council to plan for our future as we carry out our mission to "Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World."

Church of the Palms seeks to be a
multi-generational church
where all are wanted, needed and connected.

As a vital congregation, we seek to:

  • Nurture, value, and care for our current and future community of faith.
  • Develop meaningful ministries and leadership focused on the future – our children, youth, young adults, and supporting facilities
  • Expand our outreach in the community connecting particularly with schools, universities, young adults, and families.

How do we get there?

Strengthen the Core:

  • Focus on nurturing, caring for, and connecting the core of our church.
  • Expand ways of growing and serving the retired and active retired segment of our church

Expand the Fringe:

  • Develop meaningful ministries and leadership focused on the under-represented; i.e. children, youth, young adults, and families
  • Develop meaningful ministries and leadership focused on the under-represented; i.e. children, youth, young adults, and families
  • Expand inter-generational opportunities...connecting our today with our tomorrows.
  • Connect deeper with the area surrounding our location
  • Serve as center for community

  • Based on cost estimates, develop a financial plan for total costs including cash, pledges, and borrowed funds.
  • Determine the estimated safe debt limit for the church.
  • Present Building Committee’s report to Pastor and District Superintendent’s office for approval to proceed.
  • Upon written approval of the Building Committee’s report by the D.S., Convene another Church Conference to review the Building Committee report and approve the project.

The following steps are now being addressed.
